TV Tuner Card
Today was my birthday, and to my delight the guys from uni got together and organised me a present - a LeadTek WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe TV tuner card for my computer. These things really are great. You put them in an empty PCI slot in your PC and hey-presto you can watch TV on your computer. I choose the WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe model because of its support with GNU/Linux, I am using RedHat Linux 9 and I have had no major problems with this card. I am currently using a ‘rabbit-ears’ antenna, and as a result the picture is not fantastic. I would recommend getting a point put in to have the card connected to your main antenna if you are serious about this. My problem is that we are renting and there is no antenna on the roof in the first place! It comes with a remote control, which I believe is supported using LIRC, but I am yet to get it going. Overall the LeadTek WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe TV tuner card is pretty good, and I would recommend it.
